November 8-9 Weekend Recap

Some weekends are busy and at the end you feel more tired than rested.  You need to take Monday off to recover from all the activities.  This past weekend was the exact opposite.  We were busy all weekend, but my heart is full and I feel completely restored.  Every minute was filled with good friends, fellowship, or quality time with my husband.

Friday night started with a house warming party for some friends who just bought their first house.  The new place is AMAZING.  Think historic meets modern, with a splash of Pinterest.  The previous owners had updated every aspect of this historic home (including an outside grilling/fire pit/patio area and a tree house!), and then left it all for our friends to enjoy!  I should have taken a picture or two; it was perfect!

After lazing around with Phil all day on Saturday, we went out to dinner and darts for a long time friends birthday!  Hanging out and playing darts with these guys and gals was so much fun.  Our group in darts had no idea how to play, so we all cheered if it hit the board, even if you were on the other team.  I haven't had so many belly laughs in a long time.  Happy Birthday Matthew!

The past few weeks at church we've been doing a "Breaking Bread" series.  It's been all about food through out the Bible and the Lord's Table.  So this Sunday, a few families hosted lunch at their house after church.  We've only been going to the church for about a year, and don't know that many people.  It was so nice to be able to have one-on-one time with a few members of the church and get to know them better.

I got to do something this weekend I've never done - I was part of a proposal plan.  :-)  And she said YES!!  There was a picnic and waterfalls and a photographer involved.  So much FUN! And I'll be sure to post a picture once the cute couple makes it publicly known!  Eeeekkkk...can't wait!

I hope your weekend was as fulfilling as mine!  I'd love to hear all about yours in the comments.

UPDATE!  Here is the picture of the newly engaged couple!!

Birthday Weekend Recap

This weekend was so much fun and such a blessing.  I got to spend my time with dear friends and my family.  In spite of all the rain, and a rained out baseball game, we made the best of it and even got in some geocaching.

I didn’t get any photos (conveniently) of the work done in my craft room this past Friday night, but my mom was a huge help and we got started on straightening it up.  Even moved the monogram machine out of the bedroom.  I still have a lot of work to do, but it was a great start.

Enjoy some photos from the weekend!

Doing a little geocaching with Mom and Elaina.  Even got mom to walk through the woods with us!
My sweet husband got up and cooked breakfast for us and even made me cupcakes!  I couldn’t ask for a better guy!

Happy Birthday to my birthday twin, Justin.  We determined that I am a little over an hour older than him?How cool is that???

This is what you look like after biking 20 miles and trying to take a picture while looking into the sun.  It's to glamorous not to share!!!
Dinner at the Angus Barn with Daddy and Pat!  The food was delicious!

Thank you to everyone that sent me messages or called Saturday!!!  I felt super special all day!

Weekend Recap and April Goals

My first weekend in months completely social media free went WONDERFUL!  I got to spend so much more time with Phil and actually started a new book that I’ve been wanting to read.  So here is my weekend in photos!

Mudcats game Friday night.  We ate way more food than we really needed but it was totally worth it!  We had a great time, even if the home team did lose.

Enjoyed an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast at the local fire station.  Always fun to support a great cause.  Then we attended my cousins wedding.  I just love weddings. They remind me so much of the reasons I love being married and I always enjoy hearing the vows over again.

Sunday was full of church and working on an announcement that’s coming to the blog on Friday!

My April goals will not be as big as the last few months.  I’m realizing I don’t need to do more stuff in less time, but to spend more time on the things that really matter.  (Thanks MTH for that lesson!)  It’s also my anniversary month, so I want to really focus on Phil this month!  And make him feel special each and every day.

-Finish reading “Love Does”
-Sort fabric in craft room and find something to do with lots of scrapbook stuff I don’t need (if you would like it, free of charge, please let me know!)
-Enjoy a fun weekend in Savannah celebrating 3 years of marriage
-Ride my bike 3-4 times to prepare for Bike MS on May 3rd
-Continue trying to read my Bible daily

I'd love to hear about your April goals; feel free to leave them in the comments section!
